BMW To Unveil New 7 Series, X1, 3 Series at Frankfurt

Fleet Facelift

BMW has released a huge number of images detailing the cosmetic changes coming to many
of its vehicles. Most prominent is the new 7-series, X1, and 3-Series.

Fresh looks coming to the Bimmer Booth at Frankfurt (IAA)

BMW has teased it’s upcoming design changes across the 3-series, 7-series and X1 (among others) before the Frankfurt Motor Show here are some brief details from the latest press release.

7-Series

Complementary to the cosmetic changes are a bunch of new tech. Plug in Hybrid systems, those fancy adaptive laser headlights that were revealed last year, and touch screens… touch screens everywhere. In addition, they’re including the ultimate party piece, an automatic parking system that you control from outside the car using the remote/key-thingy. Oh and you can answer the phone with a hand-wave now, like Minority Report!

X1

A facelift to bring the style more in line with its larger siblings, and “more space for both passengers and luggage, a state-of-the-art premium ambience and sophisticated functionality.” For the first time, the X1 will be receiving full LED headlights, Dynamic Damper Control, and a HUD so you can relive your fighter-pilot fantasies while driving the kids to soccer practice.

3-Series

More plug-in hybrid bits, guess the i8 really made an impression on the industry and their engineers too. Paired with their “Engine Of The Year” winning 4-banger it should please all the hippies and accountants alike.

Furthermore the press-release lauds the upcoming M6 GT3 (that name alone should get people excited), hopefully I’ll have a set of pics very soon, a semi-baby-suv-frankenstein called the 225xe, and more nifty wi-fi and EV bits. Sounds like attendees of the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) could waste an entire day with BMW alone.

Wanna see what the facelifts look like? Of course you do!
