The series of teaser images has revealed the peak speed that the hot hatchback is expected to smash. Car enthusiasts and fans will be delighted to know that the maximum speed of this car will be a royal 167 mph. The new pictures were released on Thursday and show the car with prominent side skirts, an aggressive front bumper and a prominent rear wing.

The car will consist of attractive 19-inch wheels covered with 235/35 Continental tires. The stylish black wheels of the hatch will have robust Brembo braking package consisting of 4- piston calipers and 350mm discs. A picture of the instrument cluster of the Type R shows that it will consist of a redline set at 7000rpm.

Honda has promised that this model will be the meanest hatchbacks around and will also be the most extreme hatch from its stable. As it has announced, the car can achieve peak speeds of up to 167 mph. Under its bonnet will be a powerful 2 L VTEC turbo-four engine that can drive 276 hp to its front wheels. However, there is a speculation about the final power output from the Car magazine of the UK which reports that the speed might even top 300 mph.

According to Honda, the final production version of its new Civic Type R will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month. All the official specs of the car will be revealed at that time. It also revealed that the vehicle will come with an extreme aero kit to make it easy to achieve this speed. The 350mm drilled Brembo brakes will make it easy to stop the car with a lot of ease.
