The Mercedes-AMG GT S Will Be $129,900 of Tire Smoking Sporty Excellence

2016 Mercedez-Benz AMG GTS

It’s coming, it’s hot, and it’s got a price…

The Mercedes-AMG GT S is smaller and much varied than its predecessor, the SLS AMG. It is lither and nimbler as also more fun to drive around. There are reports that it will come with a lower price tag than the SLS AMG, and its price will begin at $129,900.

The $129,900 is of course the base price for the 2nd completely in-house design of the AMG. The price is likely to easily go up with the option packages. It remains to be seen whether Mercedes will take a leaf out of the book of Porsche and have a la carte options which would make consumers pay 30,000 USD more for the features that are expected to be standard in most of the premium vehicles that come these days.

At this price, you will get a good enough starting package, boasting of a new 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine that can generate a commanding torque of 479 pound feet and a peak power of 503 horsepower.

The AMG GT S will remind you of the style and power of the F-Type R Coupe, although it comes at a significantly higher cost than the latter. The car will come with a free-standing touch-screen display and 4 central air vents. The display has attracted a fair amount of controversy given the fact that some are saying that it has probably been added an afterthought. Its flat-bottomed steering wheel will come in leather and Alcantara with a dash of metallic accent. There will be shift paddles behind this steering wheel, which would make the job easier for people driving this top-notch car.

The car is reported to notch up a peak speed of 220 mph (354 km/h). You can expect a variety of buttons on the central column, including a start/stop button, standard climate control button, electronic parking brake button and a button for choosing the drive mode. Its V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine will be developed newly and it has a rating between 485 horse power (357 kW) and 550 HP (404 kW). The same engine will power the next-generation C63 AMG.
