The Infiniti QX30 Concept Gains Some Ride Height, Looks Kind of Badass

Infinity QX30, for badass moms

The new QX30 Concept from Infiniti brings a tone of badassery to their quiet luxury crossover.

The Infiniti Q30 Concept is one of the cars that come somewhere between a hatchback and a crossover, a segment that is quite popular at this time. The vehicle is quite sharp in appearance and although it is more or less a crossover variety, it still looks great to the eyes.

Infiniti has just come out with the first photo of its QX30 Concept, which is set to be launched next month at the Geneva Motor Show. It is a completely refurbished version of the Q30 Concept, which now comes with large 21-inch wheels and an additional ride height of 30 mm. The new teaser image gives away much about the Infiniti QX30 Concept without revealing all. One can get a fair idea of how the showcar from the Japanese luxury auto manufacturer will look when it comes out in March at the 2015 Geneva motor show during its international debut.

The high-riding hatchback presages a production model that will wear the QX30 nameplate and will be based on the Q30 small car, sharing its underpinnings and some major components with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. We’ve seen a rear shot of the QX30 Concept previously (below), but this new image offers more of an idea of what to expect.

According to Infiniti, this car will come with the sleek lines of a coupe and push design boundaries. Infiniti executive design director Alfonso Albaisa said:

“We wanted the spontaneous fluidity of the QX30 Concept design to cut through the urban clutter and rigidity, reflecting its go-anywhere and spur-of-the-moment nature.”

The concept crossover model will use the Mercedes-Benz MFA (Modular Front Architecture) platform, which is also being used for the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class and A-Class models. It is set to come with the standard off-road cladding elements, termed as “stylish protection” by Infiniti, which will comprise of skid plates. It would also come with hard-wearing wheel-arch extensions, which can be found to surround the 21-inch wheels of the show models with all-terrain tires.

At the moment, Infiniti has not officially revealed the technical specifications or pricing of the production version of its QX30 Concept model.
