Only 30 Nissan GT-R 45th Anniversary Gold Editions Are Coming To America

Nissan is rolling out an extremely rare GOLDEN GT-R, this might be the only time you see one.

In the past few years, Nissan has been rolling out one special edition after another of its amazing GT-R sports car. The company has released the first look of a new edition of the 2016 version of the GT-R. This is a special edition which is supposed to mark the 45th anniversary of this awesome vehicle.

Although the car has not been for so long in the United States, it has been selling in Japan for a very long time. The new edition is meant to celebrate the long life of the car and even 5 years before it hits the golden jubilee, Nissan has painted the vehicle in a subdued golden shade – which is known as Silica Brass. There is also a commemorative badge and a gold VIN plate.

The Gold Edition seems to celebrate the original Skyline GT-R, which too came in a Silica Brass shade. The vehicle would come with the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine which makes use of an AWD drivetrain and is able to generate a peak power of 550 hp.

Fewer than 30 specimens of this Premium trim of the twin-turbocharged sports coupe are coming to the shores of the U.S. Each of these will come with a commemorative badge on the central console and a gold VIN plate placed inside the engine compartment. Although the prices have not been announced as yet, the special edition model is expected to come at a cost of $103,000. It is to be noted that this edition will not be available in all markets, and will be released only in a few select ones.

However, the special 45^th anniversary edition model is not the only offering to be added to the lineup of Nissan cars. Both the Black and the Premium Edition models will come with an additional 5 hp to be 550 hp powerhouses. However, the Nismo will not have any alterations and have a peak torque of 481 lb-ft and a maximum power of 600 hp. The Premium model will have 20-spoke forged aluminum wheels instead of the 10-spoke design that it came with earlier.
