The official images of the 675LT model from McLaren are put, and they offer a sneak peek at the 650S-based supercar before it is unveiled in its global debut at the Geneva auto show in the month of March.

Based on the 650S model from McLaren, the car comes with a lower bulk and improved aerodynamics. The ‘LT’ of the 675LT refers to the long-tail aerodynamic design of the car, which was used for the first time on the 1997 F1 Longtail.

It offers a robust 666 hp power and is fast enough. The model looks lighter, harder and more robust than the 650S. According to McLaren, fifty percent of the components in its V8 engine are new and they comprise of a quicker delivery system, a faster-flowing fuel pump, new connecting rods and camshafts and new turbo. The exhaust manifolds and the cylinder heads come with detail changes.

The appearance of the 675LT has been changed a lot from that of the 650S. The profile has also undergone alterations and come with a more aggressive style and lots of aerodynamic features. As compared to the 650S, 1/3rd of the components present on the 675LT are new. A major aspect of the new design is the Longtail Airbrake, which is 50% bigger as compared to that of the 650S. Its twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8, which can be found in the 650S, is more robust here and it is a highly changed 666bhp version. Similar to the 650S, the engine of the 675LT has been coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

According to McLaren, the 675LT will offer “ultimate levels of driver engagement” to its customers. This is a road-legal vehicle although it is track optimized.

There has been broad use of carbon fiber for the aerodynamic features and the bodywork of the vehicle. The lightweight elements present in the body, chassis and engine of the car have a dry weight measuring 1230kg – and this is a hundred kilograms less than the weight of the 650S.

Deliveries to customers will start in the month of July at an estimated cost of around £260,000, which is approximately £65,000 more than the price tag of the 650S that has inspired it.
