Man Surprises His Mom With The Car Of Her Dreams

Surprises are always special. But they are made all the more special when the gifted item is more than a gift—may be, a dream! A similar incident occurred a few days back when a Waterloo, Ont. man was able to track down an old car and gift it to her mother. It was a gift that she had saved and cherished in her dreams for long.

Dreams

Corey Wadden’s mother had to give up on her sole car due to some emergency situation arising out of her loss of job way back two and a half years ago. Due to periods of hardship, she couldn’t afford a new one. But she did not know the fact that her son, Corren Wadden, was secretly saving pennies to get hold of a 1973 Saab 99 EMS, the car of her dreams. It was a car that she had been craving for ages.

On being asked the reason behind craving for the same model in copper color, Wadden answered that his mother was a professional house cleaner, and it was one of her clients back from those days who owned the same. The owner would regularly ask her to move the car in and out for him, and it was since then that the liaison between the two (his mother and the car!) started.

Hence, after saving adequate money, Wadden went about his mission to find his mother the right car. It was after a lot of enquiries and searches that he finally found a similar one at Ebay.com. Luckily for him, the seller had a whole collection of Saabs on sale, among which one resembled perfectly with the one that Wadden’s mother wanted.

Although it took Wadden another six months to get the car from California, but in his words, the surprise simply worth the wait.

One fine morning, Wadden asked his mother to come wait outside their apartment as she would be shot for a documentary that he was filming. In the video, she was handed over an envelope by Wadden. The envelope carried a set of keys along with a photograph of ‘her’ car.

Being perplexed and uncertain how to react, she hugged her son tight with tears in her eyes and surveyed the car keenly, rather surprisingly.

The video ended there with a strong message, “Do one nice thing for your parents today. It doesn’t have to be big. Give them a call and let them know how much they mean to you.”
