Miracles happen when true class meets exceptional engineering, and nothing can prove it better than the birth of Jaguar Mark 2. The striking and imposing appearance of this cream on 4 wheels is good enough to back the fact that Ian Callum, the Director of designs for Jaguar cars had not spent his 18 months in vain. The car was unveiled at the headquarters of CMC in Shropshire by the legendary test driver of Jaguar, Norman Dewis. To add glitter to the celebrations was the Formula One Grand Prix world champion John Surtees who had inaugurated the HQ building.

The reengineering and redesigning efforts that this genius had undertaken with the leading restorers of Classic Motor Cars Limited (CMC) bore results that soared over the expected levels of success. Basically created with the intent of personal use, it would only be a matter of time before a handful of worthy buyers’ would express their irrepressible desire to line up with the hope of adding one of these rare beauties to their fleet.

Callum intended his Jaguar to be simple yet power packed with nearly every aspect of modern comfort and quality to it. The Mark 2 thus comes with an upgraded 4.3 liter engine with a 5 speed manual gear box along with upgraded front brakes, adjustable dampers and 17 inch split rim spoke wheels which is one among the few features that have been named as the star of the show.

The redesigning and reengineering of the front and back suspension is also notably praiseworthy. This is not all. The interior crafted with lavish red leather is a masterpiece in itself which is sure to transport a soul way back in the glorious days of the classics. Along with this, the hi-tech entertainment system including 16 cm flip out touch screen from Clarion adds to its design exclusivity.

The intension of Callum to redesign this classic masterpiece had sprouted from the idea of adding a touch of modern refinement to it while maintaining its elegance and style. So, the overall design of the vehicle still exudes a graceful regal aura of a four wheeler crafted to play through the royal gates. Ian Callum however, expresses his intent of improving this design further in the future, which is a piece of news that is presently serving as the food for thought for the lovers of automobiles in general.
