GM to brings the noise against Fiesta ST with Its Vauxhall Corsa VXR
The Vauxhall Corsa VXR from General Motors, which has been unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show, is going to be put on sale in the United Kingdom from next month. It will compete with the Ford Fiesta ST in Europe. However, it will not be released in the U.S for now. So what are the Americans going to miss?
For a start, it seems to be a loss of a powerful drive for the U.S buyers. The Vauxhall Corsa VXR, similar to the Ford Fiesta ST, draws power from a turbocharged 1.6 L engine which is coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. The car engine has been updated, with a powerful exhaust system integrated with a turbocharger and co-manufactured by Remus, a refreshed engine management system with new fuel injectors and a refreshed air intake.
The vehicle produces a maximum torque of 180 lb-ft in the 1900-5900 rpm range and a peak power of 202 hp. The top speed capacity of this car is 143 mph, and it has a pickup of 60 mph from standstill in a matter of only 6.5 seconds. This makes it faster than the Fiesta ST from the Ford stable.
This is the next-generation Corsa VXR and boasts of traction control and a 2-stage ESP. While driving the car, you can select the Competition Mode where the traction control is in an inactive mode when the ESP is reduced. You can completely disable the ESP at the time of driving the vehicle on the tracks.
It is not known why exactly the car is not going to be launched in the U.S. It is probably because it could not meet all the regulations in the United States. That is a loss for the U.S buyers, but an advantage for consumers in Europe who can enjoy driving this power-packed vehicle.
