Audi Prologue Avant Boasts 455-HP Hybrid Powertrain

The new Audi concept aims to keep the bar set as high as ever.

The first official photos of the Prologue Avant concept car from Audi are out, just before the Geneva Motor Show that s due to happen next week.

The slightly bigger vehicle acquires its system from the Q7 E-Tron Quattro. This means you will find the same 3 L, twin-turbo V6 TDI engine that is capable of producing a peak power of 353 hp. The 100-kW electric motor is paired with an 8-speed transmission gearbox. It has a maximum power capacity of 455 hp with a commanding torque yield of 553 lb-ft. The vehicle can run a maximum of 33 miles and it gives an acceleration of 0 – 62 miles / hour in only 5.1 seconds.

The front section of the internal cabin consists of 4 individual seats. The controls of the vehicle come from the coupe. On the pass-through center console, there is a screen that offers controls for more convenience. There are OLED screens in the car that are detachable, similar to the detachable tablets present in the Q7, and can provide the passengers at the front with information.

The interior cabin has the use of much leather and there is also a 3-display touchscreen dash which makes up a single whole all across the car front. You can find dual detachable OLED displays at the back, integrated into the rear headrests. There is also a display present on the center tunnel, for infotainment, air conditioner and other things. Passengers at the front and the rear can exchange information if they want.

The car is also equipped with a ‘butler’ system, which can detect drivers with the help of their smartphones. It can automatically adjust the seats and control the climate setting as per the preset preference that you have.

In case you want to run the car only on electric mode, a range of about 33.6 miles is predicted by Audi. There is also a 4-wheel steering, 20 inch ceramic brake discs, lightweight wishbones and an adaptive air suspension.

The Avant, similar to the Prologue Coupe, also previews the design of the future models of Audi with flared arches, wide shoulders, a wide new grill, new Matrix Laser lights and the staple of the Audi concept cars – giant wheels of 22 inch diameter.
