About Ferrari Tires
Early in the 1900s, there was Alfa Romeo, Italy’s prized motor vehicle export, their designs were lavish, and their racing heritage above all elevated them to icon status. The head of Alfa’s racing division chose to set out on his own, and make his own brand in 1939. That person was Enzo Ferrari, and the landscape of performance vehicles across the globe would never be the same.
The Prancing Pony badge is now one of the most desired parking lot head-turners of all time. From a small company that produced less than 10 vehicles in the 1940s, so a super exclusive Hypercar pioneer, Ferrari has always been driven by one single ideal, to win races. Enzo Ferrari himself expressed disdain for making road cars at first, citing that he would rather build only cars for racing if he could. Try as he might, the company would build some of the most recognizable sports cars of all time, some that now come with price tags in the hundreds of millions at auction. From their pedigree of championship winning race cars, Ferrari would glean bits of knowledge that would eventually become road car legends. Ferrari has always been a pioneer in Formula 1 tech, and that would bleed into some of their most famous vehicles. The 288 GTO would be one of the first cars to ever be called a “Supercar” with its mid-engine layout. The F40 is a timeless piece of automotive art, which still impresses at even the most presidential of car meets. The Enzo would be imbued with so much engineering passion it would earn the name of the company’s founder. La Ferrari would be considered so pure in the company’s philosophy that its name would just be that, “The Ferrari,” one and only.
While Ferrari’s supercars and hypercars will grace people’s bedroom walls now and into the future, their “more accessible” vehicles also inspire. From the “eco-friendly” F430, with its ethanol fuel, to the most current F8 Triturbo, a cybernetic organism that seems more comfortable in a science fiction magazine. The early 2000s would see the 360 Modena and give way to a new design language, which can now be seen in the 458 and 488 respectively. As if the mid-engine Ferraris took too much fame away, front-engine v12 extreme machines also grace the brand’s catalogue. From the 550, to the 599, F12, FF, California, and most currently the 812 Superfast, Ferrari has proven that no layout is safe from their undying desire for speed and performance.
