So, you must have heard about the Scion iM concept car that was unveiled in November last year. Since the time the curtains were raised on this car, hatchback lovers were waiting for the production of this car to start. Scion, the popular automobile brand, has been trying to breathe new life into the struggling lineups. And the iM was one of the most talked about attempts so far. As far as the appearance goes, this concept car is the Toyota Auris that was more Euro-market centric.

Experts are guessing that when the production starts, the iM will have lesser power and drivetrain options than its European counterpart. Although the automakers have not revealed anything of that sort, that is a general idea that is harbored by many. Keeping this in mind, it would be a real surprise and a matter of great joy if the Scion iM is launched with diesel engine and AWD drivetrain. Scion, the Toyota division that already has a reputation for coming off as arrogant, has not said a word about what sort of features the hatchback will possess.

Although no details have been revealed as yet, it is expected that Scion will soon go into production, and that it will be debuted in the Big Apple along with one other model of the brand. The five door hatchback is being highly anticipated by the auto industry. While some are looking forward to it release with a lot of high hopes, others are just assuming that the car will be a major letdown once it comes in market. When asked about the production of the new Scion iM, Doug Murtha, the vice president of Scion said “A production version of the iM Concept WILL become a reality. Now all it needs is outstanding fuel economy and a price under $20,000. But you’re going to have to stay tuned for that.”
