Get Amazon Deliveries Straight To Your Car
Amazon Key is officially available in about 50 American cities.
Honda was first to the punch on launching Amazon Key services for all their models equipped with HondaLink. Pretty neat, now you don’t need to sign for packages, the delivery person will just drop your shipment into the trunk.
HondaLink could already unlock and start your Honda, but not you can tie that in with your Amazon shopping experience to avoid any unnecessary carrying of boxes. It seems extremely convenient, however in this era of stolen packages, we can’t help but wonder how quickly whole cars will start to disappear. We’ve already heard the horror stories of porch pirates who will tail delivery vans, are we entering the golden age of the car booster?
A couple years back we read about Hackey which can quickly replicate a key FOB and open just about any vehicle door, even copy the Push-To-Start button! How long before someone hacks the Amazon and Honda API linkage and starts making away with Acuras! EEEK.
Hopefully this has been thought out, so far Honda has listed these compatible models.
Model | Trim | Years |
---|---|---|
Accord | Touring | 2018-2019 |
Accord Hybrid | Touring | 2018-2019 |
Insight | Touring | 2018-2020 |
Odyssey | Touring and Elite | 2018-2019 |
Passport | Touring and Elite | 2019 |
Pilot | Touring and Elite | 2019 |
Got one of those in your sights? Well now you’ve got the added Amazon bonus! This is truly an amazing invention, however we’re not investing until we can have groceries delivered directly into the fridge.
