What is Aggressive Fitment?
Aggressive fitment is when wheel and/or tire specifications are outside the allowable range of size and diameter recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Each vehicle has its own safe operating range of wheel and tire specifications like Offset & Width for wheels, or Overall Diameter and Tire Width. The most common purchases are for trucks, where someone purchases wheels with a low or negative offset, and oversized tires. This creates the bold, “poked” stance that is common among truck owners, but in some cases requires extensive vehicle modifications for proper fitment.
What makes a wheel an Aggressive Fit?
For wheels, we show you all available options where the Diameter, Width, Offset, Bore, Bolt Pattern and Load Rating are all within the recommended ranges for your vehicle. This ensures what you are purchasing can be bolted onto your vehicle without any extra modification.
When you select the “Aggressive Fitment” filter, we remove some of the guardrails for wheel fitment. We only consider Bolt Pattern, Bore Size, and Load Rating for your vehicle. These options are going to have different Diameters, widths and low or negative offsets, which can change the look or “stance” of your vehicle.
What makes a Tire an Aggressive Fit?
When you enter your vehicle details, we consider the Overall Diameter & Tire Width when it comes to sizing. We also consider required Load Ratings and Speed Ratings for your vehicle. For example, If your vehicle has a load rating of 103, with a “S” Speed Rating, we will only show you tires that are equal to or above these specifications.
When you select Aggressive Fit Tires, you will be shown all options that need the load rating and speed rating of your vehicle, however there is no limit on the width or overall diameter of your vehicle. If you have a lifted truck and want to put oversized tires like a 35x12.5R18 on your vehicle, you will be able to see those options without having to go through a custom tire size search.
Do you guarantee fitment for Aggressive Wheels & Tires?
We do not approve fitment for aggressive fit wheels and tires because we are removing key fitment specifications in order to offer you the most possible options that could work with your vehicle. Without these restrictions, there is a high chance your vehicle will need to be modified in order to accommodate your selection of wheels/tires. For these reasons we cannot guarantee fitment.
Possible Modifications include:
-
Suspension modifications like lifts or camber adjustments
-
Possible rubbing on suspension or body components
-
Body modifications to comply with local laws
Are Aggressive Fit Wheels/Tires Legal?
Due to local regulations and laws, not all aggressive wheel/tire setups are legal for road use. In some states/provinces, it is illegal to have tires that stick out past the body-work. In these cases your vehicle will require body modification to be road legal. We highly suggest checking your local regulations to fully understand the laws before purchasing aggressive fit wheels.
